Big data: It’s everywhere. How do you move beyond the noise and use big data to craft meaningful customer communications and strengthen these important relationships? Digital marketing expert Kathryn Robinson of Lumen Strategies will participate in a panel, “Data: Big, Little, How to Make it Matter” with Cisco’s Meredith Sarye and icimo’s Bryce Gartner to show you how.
Data certainly can be the impetus for identifying very important truths which can enable businesses to grow or win customers or become more profitable. So where does Kathryn start? “If you do not start with the questions you want to answer, you can waste a lot of time and money. Getting to the essence of good questions to ignite your acquisition and analysis of data and turn it into insights that inform something you will do differently or better are key to successfully using data” according to Kathryn who embraces having a different view of strategy.
My definition of strategy in how I support my clients is this, “Strategy is simply the allocation of scarce resources in pursuit of an objective.” No one has unlimited resources, so no one can afford to not think strategically about where they put their time, their resources, their marketing dollars, or anything if they want to optimize their business.
That is why Kathryn’s specialty is bringing this thinking to strategy in order to inform actionable plans and execution.
What can the clients expect to get when they work with Kathryn and Lumen Strategies? Her strong ability to quickly grasp the big picture, identify gaps and opportunities, and then get to the business of developing a strategic plan coupled with a pragmatic and prioritized execution plan.
It is no surprise that Lumen Strategies has grown so strong in the past two years. When we asked Kathryn what she has taken away from her entrepreneurial journey she passionately replied, “It has been proof for me that when you can figure out exactly what about your work you love, and then make a business of it, it can be very fulfilling!”
